Alexander has been serving in the E-Board of the Fredonia College Democrats and has been a part of the political process from local to state-level politics. He believes that young people have a golden opportunity to take it upon themselves to become the leaders we want to see in the world.

Alexander wants to inspire college students to become educated & involved with local politics and help foster the development of a future for themselves and their children in a New York State that is equitable, sustainable, accessible, accountable, and fair.

Alexander participated in the New York State Assembly Internship with Assemblymember Jon Rivera, volunteered for local campaigns in Western New York, and co-founded the student advocacy group “Students for Fredonia” in December 2024.

  • "Life is politics. It’s all around us. I’m inspired by the positive impacts that legislation can have and the hearts and minds that can be touched by good policy & action. Politics is more than a battle of ideas; it is the study and art of governance, but it is also profoundly human. I believe politics should be about doing the right thing for people to the best of your ability and dedicating yourself as a public servant, making sacrifices in pursuit of the greater good. I was drawn into politics because I have such tremendous hope and faith in our generation, and I believe that when we work together to move forward, innovate, and create new ideas, we will shape a future New York, and a future America, that we can be proud of."

  • "Politics isn’t something happening in a vacuum, it’s everywhere. Every aspect of our lives has been shaped by the policy decisions, good or bad, of thousands of people who came before us.

Becoming involved in politics is a way to find community around you and get more in touch with the places you grew up in and where you go to school.

I recommend young folks in High School and College do all they can to learn about their local governments; go to city or town board meetings when you can, and see when your Local Democratic committee meetings are! There’s never a “perfect” time to get involved like the present! More often than not: your presence will be not only appreciated, it will be welcomed!"
