Vinson joins the CDNY team to fuel his passion for public service & his concern for the future of environmental policy. He saw a great opportunity in CDNY to hone the skills he acquired as a former state and national officer for the High School branch of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). With hopes of deepening his understanding of politics, Vinson strives to deepen his connection with the people of New York who share his passion, yet hold a contrasting perspective.

Vinson’s political involvement stretches from serving as State Director of the Georgia Youth Legislative Action Center to interning with the Georgia House of Representatives. He has experience in overseeing political outreach at the local, state, national, and international levels.

  • "I firmly believe that politics is about finding common ground. The idea of coming together towards a common cause and changing perspectives on what's politically possible inspires me. Specifically, the fight for education reform most inspires me. We can change lives and create upward mobility for people living in poverty if we change the way we approach the way power functions in education. Providing exposure, career readiness, and attention to our most economically disadvantaged communities could redirect not only the future of our workforce, but the lives of people in poverty— and that inspires me."

  • "Representation of young people in politics matters. To shape a nation where all walks of mankind are represented politically, we need all voices heard. The recent Supreme Court rulings are all the evidence needed when thinking about the importance of young people in politics. It also shifts the gears of this question, focusing on not just the importance of young people, but the extent to which young people hold the power. Collectively, young people are powerful, so we need all hands on deck in the upcoming election."

  • I hope to foster opportunities for chapter and state collaboration, increase the amount of active chapters by working with democrats across New York college campuses, and revamp our caucuses.
